  • Discover Karachi’s highlights from the Frere Hall to the Empress Market aboard a very colorful, festive traditional Karachi bus.

    Visit extraordinary Jinnah's Mausoleum and take part in a beach cleaning campaign in Cliffton.

  • Get acquainted with the city’s artistic crowd in the up and coming art galleries and cafes, visit the modernist Tooba mosque and the National Museum. Have a sunset dinner at one of the most beautiful ocean-facing spots in town.

  • On the road to Hyderabad, visit the Chaukhandi and Makli necropolises and the Shah Jahan Mosque in Thatta, which has a connection the the Taj Mahal.

    End the day visiting the beautiful Talpur Tombs in Hyderabad.

  • Experience the Sufi sites in Bhit Shah and Sehwan, filled with mesmerising rituals of music and dance.

    Visit the Mohana tribe, the resilient inhabitants of peaceful Manchar Lake.

  • Explore southern Pakistan’s most iconic site, the archaeological site of the Indus Valley Civilization of Mohenjo Daro.

    Visit the unique Kot Diji fort and the White Palace, before continuing on to the Mughal icon of Faiz Mahal.

  • After a slow morning in Sukkur, we visit the extraordinary Uch Sharif and its blue-tiled mausoleums.

    Our journey takes us to the beautiful Cholistan Desert, where we will stay overnight in a campsite next to the enormous Derawar Fort.

  • Start the day with a local tribal Hindu community living in Desert, before heading to Bahawalpur, where we will visit Mughal Noor Mahal.

    Reach Multan to explore its iconic tombs and shrines, its bustling bazaar and learn about Jain history in the city in the afternoon.

  • Travel to Lahore and explore the magnificent Tomb of Jahangir. In the afternoon, go on a private tour of the walled city.

    Wander the beautiful Shalimar gardens and meet the transgender community based in the city.

  • Get to know the wrestlers of a kushti school up close and head to the grand Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque.

    In the afternoon, we will take part in the Pakistan-India border ceremony, a long standing tradition of the competing countries.

  • Travel to the Khewra Salt Mines, where famous Himalayan pink salt comes from.

    Onwards to the modern capital of Islamabad, where we will visit a night market.

  • On this day we visit the workshops catering to the truck paraphernalia that is an integral part of the country’s identity, and explore Pakistan’s capital, including the iconic Faisal Mosque.

  • We take a flight to Gilgit, in the northern mountains, and start our exploration of the Hunza Valley.

    Take part in a local cooking class and enjoy the wonderful views of the Attabad Lake.

  • Start the day crossing a suspension bridge over the lake, before heading to the extraordinary Passu area.

    Explore the one thousand year old Altit village and witness the traditions with a private performance from an Altit cultural group.

  • Undertake the adventurous off-track journey to the mesmerising Fairy Meadows, one of the most beautiful places in Pakistan.

    Accommodation: Ibex Lodges, Fairy Meadows

  • Spend the day on the very rewarding trek to the Nanga Parbat base camp.

    A higher fitness level is advised for the completion of this day. Alternatively, spend the day exploring Fairy Meadows at your leisure.

  • Travel back to Gilgit, reaching town in the afternoon to explore its bazaars and street life.

    Accommodation: Ramada by Wyndham, Gilgit

  • On our last day, we fly back to Islamabad, where our Expedition concludes.

    If you opt out of one of the portions of this itinerary, the costs are as follows:

    Southern & Central Pakistan: secure your spot for 629€ (656$ USD), remaining payment of 2.516€ (2.624$ USD) 60 days prior to departure, making a total of 3.145€ (3.280$ USD);

    Northern Pakistan: secure your spot for 522€ (544$ USD), remaining payment of 2.088€ (2.176$ USD) 60 days prior to departure, making a total of 2.610€ (2.720$ USD).

  • The quality of accommodation in Pakistan may not be of the same standard you are used to back home. The standard for this Expedition is that of small, locally run hotels with breakfast and amenities included. We do guarantee the best accommodation option (in security, cleanliness, and comfort) available during this Expedition.

    Accommodation is of double occupancy. If requested, a single supplement of 900€ applies.

    The Ylem Expedition Company is not responsible for the unavailability of the designated accommodation options, but will ensure Guests stay in next available option of the same quality standards.

  • Insurance is contracted on behalf of every individual guest and is only valid for the duration of the expedition.

  • International flights are not included. Each guest is responsible for securing any travel arrangements to Karachi and from Islamabad or Lahore.

    We strongly advise booking flights reaching Karachi on the day before the Expedition starts and leaving Islamabad the day after the Expedition ends.

    The Ylem Expedition Company is not responsible for any flight delays or cancellations that may impact a Guest’s itinerary, but will provide assistance in finding alternatives and making sure it affects the trip as little as possible.
